[Music] welcome ladies and gentleman to another glacial geek valerie pores I am Phil the glacial geek coming to you here from Savannah lion games in Pooler Georgia where I will be fighting a 1500 point battle between my dark angels and Kyle's Eldar he is running the BL tan so the story that we've got going on here is that the Imperium had taken over this planet and had taken over this planet and had moved into to take it for the for the Emperor and it turns out that this was millennia ago a BL tan planet and the bl-10 finding out that the the monkey had moved in onto their planet decided that they wanted it back even though they hadn't been on this planet for many many years they still wanted it back because it was theirs and that's just the way it is so they moved in and took over the planet and we're reestablishing it as they BL tan planet and the dark angels were sent in sent in a very fast force to go see if they could strike quick and and and get them off the planet before they could re-establish themselves and control of this planet so today we are going to be playing that's the story we're gonna be playing we are going to be playing frontline warfare which is one of the new the new missions from chapter approved it is actually the first of the males of the sari eternal war missions that are going on so what happens in this one is that there are four objectives one back here in my deployment zone two in the middle there that we place and then one back in his deployment zone which is back over there and they are worth at the end of the game they are worth one point if it's in your deployment zone two points if it's in the middle two there and it's worth four points if you control the one in your enemies deployment zone so that's the story and that's the mission that we got going on before you go any further though let's show you the two armies are going to fight in that today so for the dark angels I'll be running an outrider detachment leading off the detachment is an interrogator chaplain on a bike and a librarian on a bike with a force sword we have a five man bike squad with two plasma guns we have a seven man Black Knight squad we have a dark shroud with a heavy bolter we have an attack bike with a multi melter we have to land speeders one with an assault cannon and a heavy Boulder the other with an assault cannon and a heavy flamer we have a Raven wing Apothecary and last but not least we have a dark Talon and for the Eldar running built and he'll be running a battalion leaning off that battalion we have an autarky runner with a laser Lance and a Farseer with a shuriken pistol and singing spear we have two five-man die Avenger squads both with Avenger scherk and catapults and plasma grenades and one has an X arc with two catapults we have a 10-man Guardian squad with shirking catapults and the support weapon with star cannon we have six striking scorpions with chain swords manda blasters and shuriken pistols and the X arc has a scorpions claw we have six howling banshees with power swords and shuriken pistols and the X arc has an executioner we have an eight-man squad of warp spiders with death spinners and the X arc has two deaths pinners we have four shining Spears with laser Lance's and the X arc has a star Lance we have ten swooping Hawks with the last blasters and the X arc has a Hawks Talon we have to wave serpents with twin scatter laser sure King cannon crystal targeting matrix and spirit stones and last but not least we have a crimson hunter x Ark with two bright Lance's and a pulse laser all right so those are the armies going to be fighting going over deployment now we've got my attack bike on the right here along with the to land speeders there are separate units but they're just deployed over here together I've got my bike squad here I've got my dark shroud I've got my pot to carry my interrogator chaplain and my librarian behind a squad of the Black Knights and I've got my dark talent up over here go down a deployment now for the Eldar we've got his ex Ark flyer over here we've got a what's it called wave serpent and inside of there are the howling banshees right he's got his guardian squad all up in that building over there we've got the Oh what did the sky no shiny Spears over here surrounding his Farseer oh sorry that's a party given all this xeno stuff right I can't do it so that's his ought arc on the skywriter there then we've got his other he's got his other wave serpent over here inside of there are the two dire Avenger squads and the and the Farseer got a ride that time and then in reserves he's got like everything else he's got he's got a swooping Hawks he's got his warp spiders and he's got his striking scorpions so yes as of right now the Eldar will be going first unless I can seize the initiative looking for a sermon I feel first good start alright so we will come back to you after movement phase 4 the Dark Angels here on turn 1 to be the bolter god sorry twin bolter so these are going to be hitting on the vultures gonna be hitting on threes and the what we call it multi melt is going to be hitting on fours because he moves alright that's what I like to see strength eight some wounded on threes wounded on fives alright so we've got one regular and then one AP - four okay three up nope so that goes through so he takes one he's got two spirits known saves I know so those both going all right so now my my ooh landspeeder here is gonna fire into his guardian squad there he's going to spend one command point on his celestial shield which gives him a 4 + envelope for the rest of the shooting phase and now his ought arc has the ability to on a roll of a 6 gain back that command point no so he doesn't get it back but he does have a 4 up in full save so now I've got six shots from my assault cannon hitting on fours because I moved all right wow really good these are strength 6 so wounding on twos alright so we have four wounds ap minus one so four of Eatonville save makes two of them so to go down all right so now my other Lance Peters gonna fire into its guardian squad their greens are going to be the assault cannon blacks are gonna be the heavy bolter hitting on force because of him moving alrighty wow that is that is real special I'm doing well here so the greens are gonna be wounded on Tuesday XR gonna be wounding on threes alright alright so we've got four AP minus one so these are going to be four four ups yep for four ups makes one of them so another 3r did yes alright so now my black nights are gonna fire into his shining Spears over there he is going to spend 2 command points on lightning fast reflexes which is for any friendly as suriani infantry or as oriani unit that with the fly keyword and he's gonna be -1 to hit so he's gonna try to see if we can get them back so he's got to d6 looking for sixes nope does not get them back but now because I've advanced and because he's -1 to hit these guys are gonna be hitting on fives and I told him I am NOT supercharging so I'm not gonna be killing myself on threes so here we go looking for fives I got a few yeah actually was attacks and now come the attacks from the shiny spear hitting on threes that's two hits wounding on fives that is one wound AP AP - 4 so that just goes straight through to damage he's down to three alright and that ladies and gentlemen is where we're gonna call this game because I've got one guy with three ones left he will just move out of there and then everything else will just wail on my brain a year so yeah cuz they could move and ignore their the heavy penalty he could move 20 inches and still be with well within range of him and all of these guys over here we get TN so yeah that was brutal I think Raven wing they need a little help so hopefully we'll get that with the new codex that's coming out real soon and we'll see how that goes but it was still a ton of fun and he played it very well and that goes to show you that going first does not guarantee you the win a lot of people have been complaining about that but it's just you need to know how to deploy your units and you need to be able to know how to and he thought he was going first I had to seize on him but he still deployed his units with going second in mind which was holding back there and have the deep strikers that were a threat that made me have to hold guys back here and I couldn't move everybody up and he just deployed it well so that I couldn't bring the full bear the full weight of my shooting against him that first turn so they're really good the new Eldar codex is really good the DL tan getting to reroll those reroll those shuriken weapons getting a plus-one to their leadership the warlord trade is super good getting the that was that was the see oh oh yes so this is a free rolling on ones oh yeah free roll we roll everything we could just choose the friendly unit during the shooting phase super good so BL tan is gonna be up there to a latoque was really good I faced them before with the -1 to hit outside of 12 inches like the Raven wing the Raven guard is uh yeah it's it's awesome it's really great and makes me excited to finally get my code X's so we'll see how that goes but the new mission I was looking through the missions that they have now from the chapter approved and they look like a lot of fun I just picked up the book literally just like minutes before we started playing this game so that's why we chose this one mission would have been a lot of fun if I could have survived a little but it was a lot of fun just to play in general but it made me think it made you know it made me think cuz I didn't want to I didn't want to leave this one completely open because I would have been four points for him that he could have deep struck on two and lost me a point with not holding it but my my my forest was designed to be really fast and get up in his face and they couldn't do it because of the way the mission played so that's pretty awesome the way that comes into it so I think it's gonna be a lot of fun I think it's a it was it was the new missions look like they're gonna be a ton of fun look really interesting and have some really cool quirks to them that I think are gonna make you to make a really interesting time because they've got they've got new trait they've got new maelstrom of war ones and new eternal war one so they've got the best of both worlds therefore whatever you want to play so I hope you guys have all enjoyed it I certainly have I
