hi guys today I'm going to be reviewing this Philips AirFloss I've had quite a few people asking me about it and patients asking me about it so I thought I'd do a little review and give you my opinion on it I've bought this quite a while ago so this is probably the older model and but it'll probably do very similar thing so out of the box what you get is this unit here which is quite small and light and and it's got a charger which I haven't brought with me but you just put the charger in there and plug into the little tip in bathroom socket and then you've got a nozzle here and what you do is you just connect that in like that once it's charged just press this button so it's green when it's hard I think it flashes orange when it's low in battery and then you've got a little reservoir here which you can put water in or mouthwash but I did read a few reviews that people had used mouthwash it to damage the unit so I just stick to water and so what I'm going to do to show you how effective it it is is use this little plaque disclosing tablet so this is a little tablet that you to swell in your mouth and then rinse out after you've done that it will die of any plaque that's on your teeth or in between the teeth pin because you can see exactly where you need to clean or where you need to brush so I'll just show you how to use this tablet or you can buy this in Boots or online they call disclosing tablets or plaque disclosing tablets it's just a little vegetable dye so just pop in your mouth

and then it just dies all the plaque pink so I'm going to show you how to pretty disgusting so you can see all of hug in between the teeth and on the tea and so what I'm going to do first is brush my teeth and just with the electric toothbrush I won't show you this and then I'll show you how it looks after I've brushed my teeth you can see when you brush your teeth it doesn't actually remove the plaque from immunity so that's why you still need to floss and/or use TP brushes or use an air floss something to get in between the teeth to remove the plaque my teeth with an electric toothbrush is actually done a pretty good job and removed most of the plat but there's still some areas around the bottom in between the teeth and at the top round in between the teeth and I've still got a bit of pink fair so we'll see if you can get all of that off with the air flosser so how to use it and so I said you press this button switch it on and then you've got this button here and when you press it there's a burst of water and air donate this can see that and if you keep your finger on it it's continuous

so probably do a couple of bursts in between each each tooth no dividing line so you just stick the nozzle in between the teeth like that then press it okay

so he feels like it's running out the tank is quite small so if you're doing a few birds it'd probably have to refill it again subsequently five so let's a look most most of the pink is gone it's like still too little areas that are filled pink so I can't get off of this again still pink so I'm just going to use some floss to come get my last feel after I floss was able to get rid of all the pink and so I would still say that manual removal of plaque is still better so either with floss or the teeth brush could actually physically disturbed in a plaque to remove it the air floss is really really easy to use and so be great if someone's not got the dexterity it would add writers that kind of thing you can't get the floss in but then the TPS are very easy to use and with people who haven't got great dexterity so I always recommend the air floss and as an adjunct so choose that in addition to floss

[364.38]
okay so the main benefit of the airflow sir is that it's really easy to use really straightforward anyone can use it and also is portable and so you can take that with you I know some of the water picks they're quite big units so that's another benefit it's also great for people with braces so if you've got braces it can be quite difficult to remove food stuck between your brace this gets out really easily such as in patients of mine who do have the air flosser guns tend to be immaculate I think that is because people who purchase these probably are more aware of their oral hygiene and wanting to look after their teeth and they tend to also have the electric toothbrush as well and some even floss as well after their floss so that would be the perfect situation really electric toothbrush air floss and then manual floss or TP brushes oh by the way if you are using mouthwash make sure you use that at different time to brushing not straight after brushing otherwise you're going to wash away all the fluoride from the toothpaste and so yeah give it a try and if you have one of these let me know what you think about it and if there's any other videos you want me to do just pop a comment below and let me know
